Psycho Mom

DD and her girls know a family with eight children who enjoy calling their mom Psycho Mom when she gets a little irate about something they are doing.  So DD’s girls now sometimes call her Psycho Mom when she gets a little irate with something they are doing.

Recently DD and her brother, Gunny, had an interesting phone conversation:

DD:  When I want to warn the girls that I think they are getting wayyyy out of line, I will say something like, “Psycho Mom is on her way and we all know you don’t want that!”

Gunny:  Oh, I can picture that!

DD:  I don’t think so.  You couldn’t possibly imagine what Psycho Mom looks like.

Gunny:  Does she look anything like Psycho Sister?

DD:  Oh, yeah, okay maybe you do know what she looks like.

We raised a couple of really funny kids, when they aren’t being “psycho” of course.

Clearly you handed down the funny genes and not the psycho genes. Gunny’s line was a great one. 🙂

  2. Sandra says:

Oh, I think I may have handed down those psycho genes too, Hilary. I was quite the yell-er when they were growing up.

We do love looking for funny ways to say things in our family — I think that may be why I like you so much. You are so clever and fun with words. 🙂

What’s funny is that so many of us have these pictures in our heads, of our various selves, that make us forget that we are usually showing the same single self to everyone most of the time, no matter which one we’re picturing!

  4. Sandra says:

Suldog — You are absolutely right. 🙂

  5. Linda says:

To me, she’s just Psycho Friend’s Psycho Daughter. 🙂

  6. Sandra says:

Excuse me???? I don’t know what YOU’RE talking about! 🙂

  7. Vicki says:

Funny! Sounds like your adult children have ironed out their growing up fusses and really like each other as adults! I thought my two youngest would never get along or like each other, but thankfully they do!

  8. Sandra says:

Vicki — DD and Gunny have developed a nice relationship, which absolutely thrills me. They really clashed when they were growing up. And I give humor alot of the credit for the healing — it really is helpful, and our family really DOES enjoy it. 🙂

  9. Gunny says:

Humor? What humor? There is nothing funny about Psycho Sister!!

  10. Sandra says:

Gunny — In case you haven’t noticed, I think you’re funny sometimes even if you don’t mean to be!! You didn’t have a psycho mom too, did you? Don’t answer that. 🙂
