A surprise “sweet” after dinner!

Back “in the day” they used to call a beautiful car a “sweet ride” and it had nothing to do with how the car actually rode and everything to do with how it looked.

We went to dinner last Friday night in a near-by town with Linda and Doug and when we came out of the restaurant this beautiful car was parked right in front.

Everything about it was that dark, rich plum color.

Can a car grille also be a work of art? Β In this case, I think so.

It was a treat for us to just get to look this beautiful classic car over and take some pictures, but I’m sure that doesn’t begin to compare with the pleasure someone had of driving this “sweet ride” to dinner on a beautiful summer evening.

Beth — I’m not someone who usually swoons over old cars, but this one really impressed me. It WAS beautiful!

Oh that’s an eye-catcher for sure. Beauty of a car.. thank you for thinking to share it with us. πŸ™‚

WOW—–we needed that just a “few years” ago when we would go thru Gardner’s and Azars!!!!!

Wow, Sandra, this is one nice looking car! Like you, I don’t normally pay much attention to someone’s vehicle (I drive a beat-up old van, myself ;)) but this one is a show-stopper. Gorgeous.

Hilary — I guess that’s what makes me a blogger? The first thing I think of when I see something photo-worthy is, would this make a good post? πŸ™‚

Cheryl — Wouldn’t we have been “cool”? πŸ™‚

Lynn — I think maybe it was the purple color — a little bit unusual, but soooo beautiful. πŸ™‚

I love seeing old cars like this on the road; at car shows, too, but especially out where someone is still driving them. I photographed a really nice old Chevy truck in Nashville, but I wasn’t sure about how to post it. I’ll take a clue from you and xxx out the tag number.

Good, Carla! I’ll look forward to seeing it. There are some really pretty cars now, but, in my opinion, nothing like these old classics. (Kind of like us, huh?) πŸ™‚
