Love is thicker than blood!

Blood may be thicker than water, but love is thicker than blood!

I wrote a post called My Faith is Sufficient for You a year ago last Christmas about our nephew and his wife losing their twin baby boys at birth.

But now they have finally been blessed with a little boy through adoption, Liam.  He was born last Thursday and on Saturday they met him for the first time.

Here is the e-mail my BIL, Denny sent to all of us announcing Liam’s arrival:

On Thursday April 8th David and Tiffany became the adoptive parents of Liam Everett.  He weighed in at 8 lbs.+ and was 20 inches long at birth. David and Tiffany were at Disney World standing in line waiting to go on a ride when they received a call that their son was waiting for them back in Indiana, so they traveled back by auto (quickly rented because they had flown) through the night to get back home to welcome their new son.

At 7 PM Saturday the Lutheran Social Services team brought Liam to David and Tiffany’s door. He was welcomed by Tiffany’s mom, Grandpa and Grandma H. (Carol and Denny), three little cousins, and of course David and Tiffany.

What a joy to see God at work in all his mercy to accomplish His plans. We love you Liam!

I cried when I read this e-mail.  I am so thrilled for David and Tiffany that they are finally parents — they will be great ones!  But it also makes me teary to think about how God has blessed little Liam with not only such a special, caring couple for parents, but also with Denny and Carol’s loving, faith-filled extended family.

btw, I would guess that some of the people standing near David and Tiffany in the line at Disney World received a thrill too by being near enough to witness the moment when such an obviously joyous, life-changing phone call happened in a young couple’s life!

Welcome, little Liam!

I have been on cloud nine since I heard the news on Friday afternoon! We are so excited for Dave and Tiffany… words can’t express the joy we feel! God is truly good ALL the time! I haven’t stopped thinking about them… I can’t wait to meet Liam in person. It makes me want to take a road trip to IN right now! If you are able to see him before I do, which I’m sure you will, please give him extra kisses and squeezes from his Aunt Julie, Uncle Jon and two cousins! Thanks for posting this Aunt Sandy!

And an excellent name. Our 7 year old grandson is named Liam. 🙂

Thank you, Carla. I haven’t actually known anyone with the name Liam before, but I really like the sound of it. Very masculine. And I like the actor with that name. 🙂
