Putting off being perfect

When I was growing up, I think the common belief about procrastinating was that it was “best friends” with lazy!

But over the years there has been a shift in that thinking, and I like it. Now they say that procrastinators tend to be perfectionists who procrastinate because they fear the completed project will be less than perfect!

You talk about zero to hero!  I am delighted with the idea that when I procrastinate it shows that I am really a “closet perfectionist” rather than a lazy bum!

Now, back to cleaning my closet.

But it’s true…I put off many things “until I get things just right for them.” When I recognize this dodge, I try to push through it…I still procrastinate, though. I think it’s in my genes. C

Chrissy — So you noticed? I’m not procrastinating though — I’m just taking a break to re-think how I can make the closet PERFECT! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 🙂

Thanks for this post Aunt Sandy! I am going to take your new perspective on procrastination as well… I’m not lazy, just making sure I get it done perfectly! 😀
