Spring and new beginnings

Hurt feelings.  Harsh words.  A friendship ended.

Three years pass.

A “life’s too short” moment experienced.  An invitation to meet for lunch extended.  A tentative acceptance.

It would be wonderful if one of the things that  had a new beginning this Spring would be this old and dear but then broken friendship.

The older we get, the more we realize how precious those old friendships are. Praying that this relationship may be restored.

Thank you, Linda. From your lips, to God’s ear.

Sandy, thinking of you and hope this all works out for you….

Thanks, Mary. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

  5. Amy O says:

Hoping all goes well. May it be a new Spring Flower that blooms.

  6. Tim King says:

Sandra, it would indeed be nice. It’s always sad when a relationship falls apart or drifts apart, and always uplifting when it can come back together.

    My thoughts are with you.

  7. Vicki says:

Praying for restoration of a meaningful relationship.

  8. Hilary says:

Sending my best thoughts for you to restore your friendship, Sandra. If anyone can right a wrong, it’s you.

  9. Chrissy Witt says:

I am with you on this one! I pray this friendship is exactly where it needs to be. Unfortunatley, one way friendships are a no-go, if your friend doesn’t want to give the time, you must leave it be. You have tried and I am sure you have prayed, leave it in God’s Hands.

  10. Sandra says:

Amy — I like your comparison to a spring bloom. Thank you.

Tim — Thank you. I hope I can heal it.

Vicki — A wise choice of words — a meaningful friendship, as opposed to a superficial friendship would definitely be answered prayer.

  11. Sandra says:

Hilary — Thanks so much, friend, for your confidence in me. I hope I can live up to your words!

Chrissy — Wise counsel, my friend. Thank you.

  12. Candy says:

Well, it’s about time… Good luck. I know you would really like this friendship to blossom again, and maybe Spring is just what it takes. All good thoughts,

  13. Sandra says:

Thank you, Candy. You have certainly been my rock during this whole drama — I’d like to put it to rest for me AS WELL AS you! 🙂

Sandy, I really hope this relationship is healed.

About 30 years ago I lost a good friend, mostly due to my bad behavior. I had seen this woman occasionally the last few years and she was pleasant, but the subject of the break never came up. I had apologized to her immediately afterward, but she didn’t accept it.

At Christmas, she sent me an email asking me to forgive her. You could’ve knocked me over with a feather. I forgave her for her part many years ago.

The reconciliation was a gift from God, for which I am thankful. I hope you receive the same gift.

  15. Sandra says:

Carla — Your story gives me hope. That’s exactly how I would love for my own situation to turn out. Thank you.
