The Possible Negatives of Wearing Cute Shoes

P1020320(1)   When DD came for the Fourth of July, she had on these really cute shoes.

P1020223(1)  But, they probably weren’t the best footwear for helping Mimi fish on the uneven ground around the lake.

P1020321   And they were not very efficient for killing this spider that happened to cross her path in the living room.  She stepped on him three times before he even realized he was in danger!  (Someone with more practical footwear finished the job for her.)

P1020325(1)   And when she took them off, for just a minute …

P1020324(1)   … her 11 year old daughter, Coco, who wears the same size shoe, tried to claim them!

P1020236(1)   Next time, maybe you should wear sneakers? …

but, they were realllly cute shoes!

And did they come from Italy? 🙂

  2. Sandra says:

Linda — Nope. But they may have been Italy-inspired! 🙂

  3. I have some purple ones which are similar – I wouldn’t wear them if I was going that close to a lake, though!

  4. Sandra says:

Very wise, Rachel, very wise! 🙂

  5. C. Beth says:

Those are so cute! DD has great taste. Coco has even better taste–she knows how to get good stuff for free; just raid Mom’s closet!

  6. Sleepless in OL says:

Has no one told DD about Red High top sneakers? Very fashionable on the 4th of July when you are decked out in red but cannot afford to be decked by uneven grass and menacing spiders. Glad you had a good time with your family and will be able to provide some good stories from their visit.

  7. Sandra says:

Beth — You’re right. But it does give Nana pause when she sees her eleven year old granddaughter looking so good in such grown-up shoes!

Sleepless — When Hubby told me he had met you when he and Gunny took Coco home, my first thought was, “Oh, shoot! If I’d known he would get to meet Sleepless, I would have made sure I went too!” Next time, I’LL take her home! 🙂

  8. Hilary says:

Ahhh spiders! 😉 They really are cute.. and I don’t even wear (much) red. 🙂

  9. Sleepless in OL says:

It was nice to meet some of your family, although meeting the person who provides me with such great reads everyday would have been the icing on the cake. When I get to your neck of the woods and have the time I will get in touch so we can meet.

  10. Sandra says:

That would be great, Sleepless! We could do lunch! Have DD give you my number.

  11. Sandra says:

Hilary — The spider did provide some humor, because she would step on him and he would just keep on going. I don’t know if it was actually the fault of the equipment/shoes or if we really need to blame “operator” error!
