. . . the frosting on the cake!
When we got to Chicago Friday afternoon, we called DD to tell her we were in town and offer to pick Mimi up at daycare, which we have done before and don’t mind at all. And we can do this because we know the password. But I can’t tell it to you because then I’d have to kill you, because it’s that secret. (smile)
Papa went in to get Mimi while I waited in the car … and waited … and waited … (it seems like forever when you’re the one waiting in the car, doesn’t it?)
and finally they came out with Mimi giving me her “homecoming queen” wave.
If there is anything better in the whole world than being greeted by a child with a smile, I don’t know what it is.
I just didn’t have my camera ready at the right times to get good pictures of Coco and Lulu this time we were there, so here are just some quick snaps I got of them.
Lulu coming home from school after being dropped off by the bus.
It’s a little boring to go to an all-day volleyball tournament you aren’t even playing in.
In fact, even those competing, have down times during the day.
Coco’s team didn’t win the tournament, but they did very well.
Our Mimi is always ready to smile for the camera, so I did get a few pictures of her.
In the car …
in the bleachers at the volleyball tournament …
and holding her new kitten, Cinderella.
I got a shot of DD in the car I really liked too, although I do wish she’d keep her eyes on the road while she’s driving, instead of looking at her dad when she’s talking to him! … says the “back-seat driver.”
We enjoyed our weekend with them.
