Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Last night we had the most beautiful snow, so while Hubby went out to do the work . . .

. . . I went out too, but to play with my camera!

That tree in the background is in our neighbor’s yard across the street.

100_4338f   When I cropped the picture to just the tree, I liked the “abstract-ness” of  it!

100_4336d   The neighbor next door, puts out a white light display of trees and reindeer.

100_4344   I think this is of the lights along a neighbor’s roof line.

100_4344-h   But, I really like it, whatever it is, after I enhanced it and cropped it!

100_4350x     A shot of the homes across the corner of the lake.

100_4347c  The back of our house.  Yes, the snowflakes were pretty big, but also, I forgot to put the lens shield on, so snowflakes were sticking to the lens!

You know, if you don’t care if photos are in focus or not, you might enjoy these pictures, just like I did!

Happy Snow!

    Sandy,
Great pictures of our wonderful snow! But, I especially like the snow floating down on your site. Nice touch!

  2. Sandra says:

Thanks, Candy. I like the floating snow too!

  3. Cathy says:

Wow, you don’t even HAVE to put fake snowflakes on your site like you did the day before. The only way I’d be able to see snow here is to put up the fake flakes!

Isn’t it great that God make this U.S of A so different – some places hot, some cold, some snowing, some raining, some flat, some mountainous (sp?) – all at the same time! Amazing!

I like the pics! Makes me feel cold! I’m actually glad we live where it doesn’t get too cold. My body would die of shock! It’s been cold here lately – to us anyway – probably got down to the 40s-50s!

  4. new diva says:

O.K., how did you get your post to “snow”, very cool! Love the blurry tree picture.

  5. Sandra says:

    Chrissy — Thank you.

Cathy — COLD in 40’s and 50’s! You ARE forgunate you don’t live in a colder climate. Our daughter was married 12 years ago on January 11. That day the HIGH was zero! Note to self: don’t let any of my other daughters pick a January wedding date. Oh, wait a minute. She’s our only daughter. 🙂

With the wind chill, it was in the minus teens! I.T..W.A.S…C.O.L.D!!!

Yes, it is wonderful to have so much diversity in climate in our country. You can still live in the US and pick the kind of climate that suits you!

  6. Sandra says:

New Diva — I was looking around in WordPress at what new was available, and “snow” was offered! So, I took them up on it. I like it too.

  7. Sam says:

Hey, Sandra, I saw what Cathy wrote. Could you guys hold on to a dump truck load of that stuff and send it to us in July or August? We could REALLY use it then! Love the pics!

  8. Sandra says:

Hi, Sam — If that were possible, we’d save a dump truck load for ourselves too! It would be great in the hottest part of summer, wouldn’t it!

  9. Julie says:

Thanks for sharing the pictures! We haven’t had hardly any snow here in Maryland, so I’m looking forward to seeing the snow when we come home for Christmas. (Hopefully it won’t snow as we travel to get there, just while we are there.)
We received your Christmas card in the mail a couple of days ago. Thank you. Always great to read the latest on what’s going on with your family. Also, Great Picture of you and Uncle ‘Hubby!’
Well, if we don’t see you while we are home, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Aunt Sandy and Uncle ‘Hubby!’ Much love to you!

  10. Sandra says:

Hi, Julie! If you get a free minute while you’re home, give me a call and we’ll get together! Love, Aunt Sandy

  11. Cathy says:

How funny – your daughter getting married in January and it was COLD COLD. Beth got married in January in Phoenix and it was 80 degrees that day! That’s a bit unusual, but the reception was outside, so we were thrilled!

  12. Sandra says:

Wow, that is different! Although, our niece was married at the end of November about 10 years ago, and she had picked (I forget why), a sleeveless dress, and I thought she was crazy. But, would you believe we had a heat wave, and it was in the 70’s on her wedding day?! There were lots of sleevless dresses at that November wedding, and our niece was beautiful and very glad her dress was sleeveless!

  13. Amy O says:

Great pictures! Love the neighbors tree. Very cool!

  14. Sandra says:

Thank you, Amy! I think that tree looked neat too, although it probably looked that way because I didn’t hold the camera still! I’m such an amateur at this photography thing! 🙂

  15. What great pictures, Sandra. Love the cropped “abstract” one of the lights on the tree. It sure looks like Christmas in your neck of the woods! 🙂

  16. Sandra says:

Lynn — Yes, and I LOVE snow, at Christmas time especially!

  17. Chourou says:

Oh, I really appriciate the way you enjoy your camera. All of these photos are quite wonderful. Looks like you took them by chance, not intending, and that’s what makes photos more interesting and more amusing. I got inspired and I’ll try it next holliday.

  18. Sandra says:

Chourou — Thank you. I’m glad you like them. You are right, they definitely were “by chance” and not intended. Just snap, snap, snap! 🙂

  19. Frank says:

They do capture the mood so well. We got hit here through the day yesterday. I’ll be heading out soon in the ultra-cold temps to take Benny trudging through it. Beautiful shots!

  20. Hilary says:

Oops.. that last comment was meant to be mine.. on Frank’s computer. 😉

  21. Sandra says:

Hilary — Well, shoot! I thought maybe Frank was going to start commenting on my blog, because he so loved the towel! 🙂

Re. your reason for going out in the cold — Benny. We really miss Akela, who died over a year ago, but we did just talk about how much easier our lives are without having her to worry about. Especially when we travel. She loved going to the kennel when we went out of town, but it always added significantly to the expense of the trip. And that, kept us from ever taking any kind of extended vacation.

But, I loved to enjoy other’s pets through their blogs, so I do enjoy Benny! 🙂
