If there is one theme that runs through our family, it is that we love humor. Following are two examples from DD’s childhood that I ran across when looking through a folder of old correspondence.
First a card she made for me. The front didn’t copy well, but she had written, “Do you know what I like about you Mom?”
On the inside she had used a fashion stamping kit we had given her (you talk about having a gift, turn on you!) to “complement” her original drawing.
At the bottom, in case you can’t read it, she has written, “Your easy to pick out of a crowd!”
Following is a copy of a postcard I wrote to her when she was away at camp in 7th or 8th grade:
So, I guess we can’t blame her for having an unusual sense of humor. It runs in the family.
BTW, I realize now how tacky the postcard looks with the post-it note paper “whiting out” unnecessary information, but it has taken me a lonnnnng time to scan these and get them on this post, so I just don’t have the rest of the day to go back and fix that. Bear with me — I’m still learning!
Happy Wednesday! May we all look for the humor in our day. It is sometimes a wonderful “fix” for what “ails” us.
