We got Wii . . . Wheeee!

We just got a Wii game, which we had played when visiting our kids, so we knew we would really enjoy it.

We got it yesterday, so we bowled on it last night, and I’m sore this morning.  I’ve decided I’m going to have to start bowling half the time with my other hand, so BOTH arms get equal exercise.

We also played golf (the animation is amazing) and I played tennis by myself after Hubby went to do other things.

The tennis was kind of funny because the system creates two of you as a “team” on one side of the net, and two interesting-looking people on the other side of the net to play against you.  You know, those two on the other side of the net didn’t look like they were in the greatest shape, so I thought “we” (me and ME) could take them, but they “beat us like we stole somethin'” over and over and OVER again.  And, this game is so realistic I actually think I saw those “ringers” on the other side of the net smirking!  I’m going to enjoy wiping that smirk off their faces when me and ME get better! (Especially, ME.  Just between you and me, ME’s not really carrying her weight.  She steps aside most of the time and lets it come to me! I may look for a new partner — maybe MYSELF is available!)

I can see I’m going to have to set limits on this — I think it could become addictive!

Have to go now.  Need to go ice my bowling/golf/tennis elbow.

O.K. I am now officially the only person on the planet that doesn’t own a Wii. I’m jealous, but I will still cheer for you and you to beat those good for nothing ringers!

We love our Wii….tennis is my favorite…for some reason I can’t putt on the golf

    and my son loves baseball
my other son loves the legos star wars.

the boys do have limits on the Wii, otherwise homework won’t get done…

Thanks for your encouragement New Diva. Mother’s Day is coming — maybe there’ll be a Wii in your sock. Oh, wait a minute, that’s Christmas. Okay, on the tray with your breakfast in bed! 🙂

tz — I love the tennis too — I just wish I could win at least SOME of the time!

It’s a good thing my writing class is almost over, or I might have problems getting my homework done too!

I have a couple of friends that swear by their Wii,as yet we have not taken the plunge.

Sounds like a lot of fun though, I saw they even have an excercise one out now that alerts you if you are off balance etc…

Danielle — Yes, I hear the exercise one comes out mid-May here. I’m looking forward to seeing what that’s like. So far, we are really enjoying it. (I even won a couple tennis games today!)

Sounds like you are having a blast with the wii! Can’t wait to read about the grandkids coming over to play Wii with you!

  7. That game sure sounds fun!

Not sure why I haven’t been here lately…better check my feeds!!

HPKT — it IS fun. You’ll have to try it, but be sure you have a large piece of time before you start — it’s like popcorn, you keep saying “just one more.”

Sandra, thanks for stopping by my blog. Weren’t those photos amazing?

Hey, I love playing the boys’ Wii game. We even had my PARENTS playing it last fall. So much fun. Nothing like boxing grandparents for good family entertainment!

Kacey — Thanks for stopping by. I did really enjoy your site — I’ll be back.

Re. Wii — that is the nice thing about it — any age can play it.

  11. Hey! I would LOVE to have a Wii! But, me and the Tiger don’t agree on that. He wants a Playstation 3. Blah, I want a Wii. AND I heard that it counts as actual working out (wink wink). So I wouldn’t feel so bad on missing those gym nights.

  12. Sandra says:

Jen — We are having a ball with it. Tell Tiger that Hubby LOVES the target shooting — he might like that (it was on the disc that came with the second control we bought, not on the disc that comes with the game). We both love the bowling — very realistic. Honestly, I don’t know much about Playstation, but I wonder if Wii isn’t going to kind of crowd out the other systems. And, btw, a fitness game comes out shortly that is supposed to be a really good workout!
